1. Overview & Privacy-First Principle

The "IP Lookup" application (the "App") is developed and maintained by avih6 as a free, ad-supported mobile network utility. This SERVICE is provided at no cost and is intended for use "AS IS".

The App operates on a strict privacy-first approach: it does not require user account creation, does not maintain user tracking profiles, and does not collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, phone numbers, or private user credentials.

2. Network Intelligence Processing & Local Data Handling

2.1 Ephemeral IP Geolocation Lookups (ipwho.is API)

To provide network intelligence, ISP lookup, ASN verification, and approximate city/country geolocation, the App transmits the queried IP address (or the device's public IP upon startup) ephemerally over secure HTTPS to the public API service provided by ipwho.is. The App does not link queried IP addresses to any personal identity. Static map graphics representing approximate geographic coordinates are loaded from OpenStreetMap community servers.

2.2 Local Network Inspection & Device Permissions

• Local Wi-Fi State: The App requests permission to view Wi-Fi state (android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE) and general network state (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) strictly to read and display local gateway details (such as local Wi-Fi SSID and private IPv4/IPv6 gateway addresses) directly on the device interface.

• Haptic Feedback: The App uses the device vibrator (android.permission.VIBRATE) strictly to provide tactile confirmation when copying network data to the clipboard.

2.3 Local Search History & Preferences

Recent IP search queries and user preferences (such as UI themes and haptic settings) are stored strictly locally in private storage on the device using Jetpack DataStore. No search history or network queries are synchronized to private cloud databases.

3. Third-Party Advertising & Technical Data Collection

3.1 Google AdMob & Android Privacy Sandbox

To support the application as a free utility, the App integrates Google AdMob to serve non-intrusive advertisements:

• Google AdMob: AdMob may process advertising identifiers (Google Advertising ID / AAID) and coarse IP data to serve and measure advertisements in compliance with its privacy policies. Google automatically anonymizes log data by removing portions of IP addresses after 9 months and cookie data after 18 months.
• Privacy Sandbox for Android: The application supports modern privacy-preserving advertising APIs in Android 13+ (such as AdServices Topics and Attribution APIs) designed to limit cross-app tracking.

4. Official Distribution Channel

The only authorized and official distribution platform for IP Lookup is the Google Play Store:

Any download or distribution through third-party websites, APK mirror portals, or unofficial app stores is unauthorized and unmaintained. avih6 assumes no responsibility for modified, corrupted, or potentially harmful APK files obtained outside the official Google Play Store.

5. User Rights & Local Data Management

Because the App operates without user accounts and stores no personal data on external servers, data control is managed directly on the local device:

• Local Data Removal: Clearing application storage via Android OS Settings or uninstalling the App immediately and permanently erases all locally stored search history and preferences from the physical device.
• Anonymous Diagnostics: Technical telemetry and crash reports processed by advertising partners are pseudonymous, aggregated, and automatically expired according to standard retention schedules; they cannot be linked to individual user identities or email addresses.

6. Data Security

Security of user information is prioritized, and commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are employed. However, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is 100% immune to vulnerabilities, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Service is designed for a general audience. There is no intentional collection or solicitation of personal information from children under the age of 13. If it is discovered that a child under 13 has provided personal data without parental consent, please send a notification immediately to the contact email so that the information can be promptly removed.

8. International Privacy Regulations & Scope

• European & UK GDPR Compliance: The Application respects the rights of users located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) through strict data minimization and zero persistent personal data tracking.
• California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): The App does not sell or share personal consumer information. Users retain full rights to query data handling policies under applicable US state privacy frameworks.

9. Policy Changes & Transfer of Ownership

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically by posting the revised version on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of the application or its service, stored data will remain subject to the provisions of this Privacy Policy.
