1. Overview & Privacy-First Principle

The "Flashlight" application (the "App") is developed and maintained by avih6 as a free, ad-supported utility application. This SERVICE is provided at no cost and is intended for use "AS IS".

The App operates on a strict privacy-first approach: it does not require user registration, does not create cloud user accounts, and does not collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as personal names, email addresses, phone numbers, or user locations.

2. Data Handling, Hardware Capabilities & Local Processing

2.1 Device Permissions & Camera Hardware Access

On modern Android versions (Android 6.0+ / API 23+), the App controls the physical LED flashlight directly via the system CameraManager API without requesting or requiring runtime camera permissions from the user. The legacy CAMERA permission declaration in the application manifest exists strictly for backward compatibility with legacy Android versions.

The App never requests runtime camera access, does not access the camera sensor, and never captures, records, streams, or stores photographs, video frames, or audio feeds.

2.2 On-Device Sensor Processing

The App processes real-time device orientation, rotation vector, and accelerometer sensor inputs to render the integrated compass and bubble level indicators, and to power the shake-to-light feature. All sensor computations are performed entirely in transient device memory and are never saved, cached, or transmitted to external servers.

2.3 Local Settings Storage

User preferences (such as morse speed, SOS configurations, screen light colors, auto-off timers, pocket protection limiters, and theme options) are stored strictly locally on the device using Jetpack DataStore. No configuration data is synchronized to external servers.

3. Third-Party Services & Technical Data Collection

3.1 Advertisements & Android Privacy Sandbox

To support the application as a free utility, the App integrates Google AdMob to display non-intrusive advertisements:

3.2 In-App Feedback & Reviews

The App integrates the Google Play In-App Review API to facilitate native app rating prompts without redirecting the user away from the application.

3.3 Third-Party Privacy Policy References

For more information on the data processing practices of advertising services, review the official policy:

4. Official Distribution Channel

The only authorized and official distribution platform for Flashlight is the Google Play Store:

Google Play Store - Flashlight

Any download or distribution through third-party websites, APK mirror portals, or unofficial app stores is unauthorized and unmaintained. avih6 assumes no responsibility for modified, corrupted, or potentially harmful APK files obtained outside the official Google Play Store.

5. User Rights & Local Data Management

Because the App operates without user accounts and stores no personal data on external servers, data control is managed directly on the local device:

6. Data Security

Security of user information is prioritized, and commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are employed. However, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is 100% immune to vulnerabilities, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Service is designed for a general audience. There is no intentional collection or solicitation of personal information from children under the age of 13. If it is discovered that a child under 13 has provided personal data without parental consent, please send a notification immediately to the contact email so that the information can be promptly removed.

8. International Privacy Regulations & Scope

9. Policy Changes & Transfer of Ownership

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically by posting the revised version on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of the application or its service, stored data will remain subject to the provisions of this Privacy Policy.
